A Pennsylvania native with southern roots, Amy graduated from Louisiana State University with a BS in Psychology and found her way into the independent school world through The Philadelphia School in Philadelphia, PA. She fell in love with the creative, warm, and dynamic educational environment she saw and went on to teach at Beauvoir in Washington, DC, Feynman School in Potomac, MD, and Mirman School in Los Angeles, CA. Amy obtained a Master’s degree at the London School of Economics in Organizational Behavior with a focus on organizational change in independent schools and a desire to move into school leadership. As she wrapped up her time in London, she knew she wanted to be a part of bettering the systems in independent schools that prop up teachers and students.

Amy began at IMS in 2022 as a fourth grade teacher and now serves as the Head of the Lower School. She is passionate about supporting Lower School students and teachers and feels honored to guide an excellent educational experience for Lower School families. Amy lives in Falls Village with her husband Mike and dog Margot and enjoys going for hikes along the Housatonic River and discovering what she can grow in her garden.
