Sarah Breakell began her career teaching 6th grade at New Canaan Country School while pursuing her master’s degree at Bank Street College of Education. She then taught science at Tuxedo Park School in New York. Since coming to IMS, Sarah has taught both math and science in grades 5-8, sat on the Steering Committee for our previous strategic plan, Courage to Climb, and oversaw its implementation as the Director of Strategic Initiatives. Sarah is currently the Dean of Academics as well as a member of the Math Department. She focuses her work most days on creating the best academic experience for all of the students on the Upper Campus.
