Jay Barillaro is a Connecticut native, husband to Jennie, father to Wade ‘21, Nash ‘21, and Louella ‘24, and companion to his faithful dog, George. He was educated at Bowdoin College, class of 1991, with a degree in Classics and Mathematics. At Bowdoin, he was the recipient of the Sewall Greek Prize and Gould Classical Award. He also played, as a pitcher, for the varsity baseball team.
Since college, Jay has worked as a teacher and administrator in independent schools for more than twenty years. He currently instructs students in Latin, AP Computer Science, and Coding, and Design. Jay also co-directs the Maker Space. As a coach, Jay leads the Varsity Baseball and Varsity Boys’ Basketball programs. In addition to his teaching and coaching responsibilities, Jay is the Director of Academic Technology, a position that reflects his lifelong interest and experiences at integrating technology into pedagogy. Jay lives on campus where he works in the Upper Doolittle dormitory.
