IMS is pleased to welcome new faculty and staff on both campuses. The diverse group is busy learning the ropes in preparation for the first days of school.

Please welcome the following faculty and staff to Indian Mountain School:

 

Sarah Bonk is joining the Upper School math department. After graduating from Siena College in 2008 with her B.A in Mathematics she attended The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York where she received her Master’s in Secondary Education. Sarah grew up in a small town in New York and enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling. Along with teaching math, Sarah is a dorm affiliate for lower Osgood and a coach for two sports.

 

Sam Campbell-Decock comes to Indian Mountain having recently graduated from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. At Wesleyan, he majored in Classical Civilizations, while also playing four years of varsity ice hockey. Now, at IMS, he holds many responsibilities as the Associate Director of Admissions, Latin teacher, dorm affiliate, and coach.

 

Patrick Donovan will step into the Director of Residential Life position. A graduate of Gould Academy and University of New Hampshire, Patrick joins us after serving as Head Dormitory Supervisor, learning skills teacher and Head Coach of the Varsity Ski Team at Proctor Academy.

 

David Gargill is teaching four sections of English, coaching two seasons, and participating in residential life. A graduate of Fessenden, Pomfret, and Kenyon College, David has been a freelance journalist. Most recently, he has been writing for Harper’s Magazine.

 

Caddie Jackson joins us as a Dorm Head in Osgood and as a coach. She attended Deerfield and Wheaton College, and most recently held the position of Assistant Director of Admissions at Proctor Academy, as well as serving as the Head Coach of the Varsity Girls Lacrosse Team.

 

Donna Lloyd is our new Administrative Assistant/Receptionist on the Upper Campus. Donna is a lifelong resident of Salisbury. Donna owned and operated her own travel agency for close to 10 years after working for two local agencies. She has worked in several area businesses including Skip Barber Racing School, Lime Rock Park, and the Interlaken Inn. Having worked in the customer service industry throughout her career, Indian Mountain School is a perfect fit in her new position as administrative assistant and receptionist. Donna is a member of the Salisbury Conservation Commission and is on the fundraising committee for the Jane Lloyd Fund.

 

Carney O’Brien joins us as Director of Secondary School Advising and Ninth Grade Dean. She will also teach, coach, and take part in our residential program. Carney graduated from Vassar College with a B.A. in English and Marist College with an M.A. in Educational Psychology. A veteran teacher and administrator, Carney most recently served as Assistant Head of School, Director of Secondary Placement, and Director of Admissions at the Mizzentop School. A mother of four, Carney has had three of her own children go through the secondary school process recently, so she understands the process as a parent as well as a school administrator. Her youngest daughter will be attending Indian Mountain.

 

Emily Page joins us as the Associate Director of Residential Life. She attended Burke Mountain Academy in Vermont and then earned a B.S. from St. Lawrence and ME from Northeastern University. Most recently she has served as the Director of Student Activities at the Berklee College of Music. Her husband, Taylor, and daughter, Sloan, are also joining the IMS community.

 

Gayle Shanley is joining IMS as a math teacher. She earned a B.A. in mathematics and a BA in Theater Arts from Brown University. Gayle has taught and tutored math from pre-algebra to calculus for the past 10 years. A theatrical lighting designer and master electrician, Gayle also enjoys participating in partner acrobatics and yoga.

 

Tanya Waugh began her new role as Lower School Secretary/Administrative Assistant in early July. Tanya earned a B.A. from New England College and an M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Fairfield University.
