Melissa Proper, IMS Controller and Director of Human Resources, received national recognition this month, earning the National Business Officers Association (NBOA) Professional Achievement Award. This prestigious award honors select business officers who exemplify high quality performance and exceptional work ethic, high standards of management, and business acumen. Melissa Proper is one of 13 independent school professionals (out of 1,400 member schools) awarded this year.
In her 15 years at IMS, Ms. Proper has served as Financial Aid Director, Human Resources Director and acting Chief Financial Officer. βIn addition to her dedication to IMS and exceptional work ethic, what sets Melissa apart is her ability to see the bigger picture,” says CFO Cheryl Sleboda. “She creates and maintains a vision and sense of direction, setting priorities for action and embracing the work with enthusiasm.β Indeed, Melissa’s enthusiasm is well-documented; she’s the “go to” person for school employees and she enters every room with a smile and often a joke or two to share.
Ms. Proper will be featured with other NBOA Professional Achievement Award recipients in the January-February issue of NetAssets magazine.
Congratulations, Melissa, for this well-earned honor!
