The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program at IMS is vital to the school’s mission, community, and future. While we have made strides in creating a more equitable and inclusive school, we are not yet where we need to be. That said, we are committed to doing the work it takes to get there. When looking at our DEI program, it would be easy to view the accompanying work as a part of our larger curricular umbrella, but instead, we think this work is the umbrella. It crosses curricula, transcends grades, and is vital to the health of our community and the community at large.

Each year, we commit to this work with a school-wide theme in mind. We acknowledge that as a community of individuals, we all have a role to play in striving for a more just world. This year, the theme is, “Be the Change.” It is up to each and every member of the IMS community to reflect and ask themselves, “How can you be the change you wish to see in the world?”
