All School Community Service events for 2015-2016
We have a full year of community-minded efforts planned that will energize the whole school around our motto of life through service.


September
CROP Hunger Walk – Sun, Sept 27 to support World Hunger, with 25% raised that day going to those in need locally. For the past two years, IMS earned the Golden Sneaker Trophy for raising the most money of ALL the other participating schools.

October
Cancer Awareness – Jane Lloyd Fund. This fund helps to provide support to anyone in our community dealing with the effects of cancer.
November
Hoops for Food – for our Corner Food Pantry. Our local food bank, which provides food for families in our Tri-state area.
December
Tree of Warmth – a variety of new or handmade mittens, scarves, hats for families in our NY area towns.
Adopt-A- Family – Christmas gifts for local children to help to brighten their holiday.
January
All School Skating Party to benefit our partner school in Africa, which helps to keep female students in school and not out on the streets.
February
All School By Kids For Kids musical benefit concert for the Hole in The Wall Gang Camp in support of children suffering from cancer and other life threatening diseases.
March
Community Service Intersession TBD.
April and May
Letters to pen pals in Africa and our own in military services. Visits to nursing homes. Helping neighbors in need.
