Watching an IMS theater production is a magical experience. From the costumes to the elaborate sets to the captivating performances, our students’ hard work shines bright on stage in a magnitude of ways. But what we don’t see on stage is where the real magic happens.

At IMS, students are not only given the opportunity to perform, but to explore their technical sides in helping us craft that magic we witness on stage. Whether it be stage management, lighting design, or sound engineering, students can explore every element of working in theater throughout the school year. This year’s student-produced production, ReRun, was a true testament to our technical theater students’ skill and vision as the production featured no set. Instead, our students used lighting and projections to develop the immersive worlds we witnessed on stage.

ReRun marks the final performance in our Assembly Hall before the opening of our new Performing Arts Center. The shift in spaces will present an exciting opportunity for our technical students as our new Performing Arts Center will be equipped with more advanced lighting and sound design systems. Access to these systems will challenge our students to learn new technical skills that will better prepare them for their secondary school endeavors.

Congratulations to the entire cast and the remarkable crew of ReRun on a triumphant set of performances! View more photos from the production here.
