Hannah Stewart grew up on the Indian Mountain School campus. An IMS “lifer”, she attended the school from pre-K through ninth grade. During our recent June 8 commencement exercises, Hannah was named as an inaugural member of the Pi Tau Mu Society for representing the top 5% of her class academically. She was also awarded the Austen Fox Riggs Prize, which recognizes a student whose strong character and positive participation make a significant contribution to our school community. Hannah will be attending Millbrook School in the fall where she is looking forward to continuing riding horses, participating in the theater program, and getting involved in the zoo.

What is the best advice you ever received?
The best advice I have ever received was “Slow down and take it easy!!” and I have definitely been offered this advice more than once. I think everyone could benefit from this advice every now and then. Sometimes it is hard to remember to take the time to enjoy life and be grateful for the little things.

What is the most memorable book that you read while a student at IMS?
I really enjoyed reading The Tempest by William Shakespeare. It was fun to read and had many important themes throughout.

What is the best meal that you’ve ever had on vacation?

It is really hard to pick just one meal, but I would have to say that the best would be the high tea I had in England!

My favorite song right now is “In My Blood” by Shawn Mendes.
