Meet the IMS Admissions Office

Charles Brown – Director of Admissions

In the fall of 2018, Charles returned to the IMS admissions office after a five year hiatus. Previously at IMS, Charles served as Dean of Faculty, English teacher, three sport coach, dorm parent in Upper Doolittle and Stockton, and the Associate Director of Admissions.

After leaving IMS in 2008, Charles taught middle school English and history and was Director of the Men’s Mentoring Program at The Children’s Storefront in Harlem, NY. After his time in Harlem, Charles served as the Associate Director of Admission at Westtown School in West Chester, PA. Most recently, Charles spent four years teaching middle school humanities at The Kildonan School in neighboring Amenia, NY. He received a M.S. Ed. in School Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania in 2014. Charles, his wife Lisa, and their three daughters Gates ’29, Charley ’32, and Barrett ’33 live in Salisbury.

Ruth Collier – Admissions Associate/PDSO

Ruth joined the admissions team at IMS in 2001. Prior to that, she started a successful travel agency and subsequently worked in the software publishing industry.  She is a graduate of the University of Connecticut, where she majored in German and minored in Psychology. When not in the office, Ruth enjoys long walks with her dog, reading, and traveling to her native England.

Liz Hodosy – Director of Financial Aid, Senior Associate Director of Admissions

Liz rejoined the IMS community as the Senior Associate Director of Admissions in 2023, having worked at IMS previously for five years as a history and Spanish teacher. Before returning to IMS, Liz worked in admissions at both Kent School and Suffield Academy. Liz also serves as an advisor on the Upper Campus, and is a proud member of the Maroon team.

Liz and her husband, Phil, live on the Hotchkiss School campus with their daughter, Eloise, and springer spaniel, Lexi.

Rich Horosky – Admissions Associate

Rich began his career at Indian Mountain School in 2005 as the first grade teacher. Now he works in admissions and coaches Varsity Boys Soccer.

He is married and has two children who attend IMS. He plays an active role in the community, coaching several youth teams as well as being a member of the Parks and Recreation Department. His hobbies are soccer, golf, and skiing.

Eliza Statile – Assistant Director of Admissions

In addition to serving the role of Director of Outdoor Adventure and Education, Eliza joined the admissions office as the Assistant Director of Admissions in the fall of 2022. After graduating from Bates College in 2019, she began her time at IMS as the Assistant Director of Athletics and taught various skills classes. She is currently pursuing her masters in Independent School Leadership, works residentially on campus, and coaches lacrosse in the spring.
