Why IMS?
Our mountain is our playground.
Yes, our 600-acre campus is breathtaking. But that’s not what sets us apart from the rest. Instead, it’s the connections we make between our natural setting and our vibrant community. Whether we’re on the trails, in our classrooms, on the athletic fields, or out in the world, the mountain has something to teach us. It keeps us grounded, offers innumerable opportunities to learn, and reminds us of the potential we have to reach new heights.
But we’re more than just a mountain in one of the most beautiful areas of New England. We are a community of learners, thinkers, doers, and change-makers. Our students take risks, fall down, and get back up again, often with the helping hand of a classmate or teacher.
We set the bar high, cheer for the success of others, and above all, we are guided by the belief that we are better together.
From the Interim Head of School
“When you come to our mountain, you will discover a learning environment rooted in connection.”
―Scott Erickson, Interim Head of School
This We Believe
“IMS has been one of the best chapters of my life and I will never forget the memories I have made here.”
An excerpt from Views magazine
“Instead of focusing on just our own methods and traditions, we can learn so much if we open our minds a little.”
―Sonya Friel, Upper Campus Science Teacher
Courage to Climb Higher
It’s not just a mountain, it’s a 600-acre classroom.
